Spindle's End

4 cookies
Spindle's End by Robin McKinley. I really like Robin McKinley's books. She creates such interesting worlds. This is a spin on "Sleeping Beauty".

Angel Falls

4 cookies
Angel Falls by Kristen Hannah. Pretty good, a woman hits her head and goes into a coma, and wakes with missing memory - interesting.

Firefly Lane

4 cookies
Firefly Lane by Kristen Hannah. After reading Winter Garden and loving it, I'm reading some of Kristen Hannah's earlier books. I'm not quite as impressed with them as I was Winter Garden, but they are still good. Some bad language. This book was good and sad - a thirty year chronicle of two women's friendship.

Moonlight Mile

4 cookies
Moonlight Mile by Dennis Lehane. I'm always slightly disturbed by Dennis Lehane's books, but I always think about them for a long time, and I'm always sucked right into the stories. This is the sequel to Gone Baby Gone, and I didn't like it quite as well, but I liked seeing what happened to the characters from the first book. Be warned of graphic details and language.

Dragonhaven

4 cookies
Dragonhaven by Robin McKinley. I loved this book. But, I love books about dragons. This is a pretty typical dragon book, with a few twists that I really liked. A fourteen your old boy becomes a surrogate mom to a baby dragon. I'm hoping that sometime she will write a sequel.

The Graveyard Book

5 cookies
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. Loved this book, about a boy raised in a graveyard by ghosts, and a guardian who seems to be a vampire. Very sweet, despite the morbidness of the setting.

Wicked Appetite

4 cookies
Wicked Appetite by Janet Evanovich. This seems to be the first in a new series starring Diesel from a couple of the Stephanie Plum novels. It was cute and funny like all of her books.

Mini Shopaholic

4 cookies
Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. The latest in the Shopaholic series, I liked it. Becky and her daughter Minnie off on adventures.

Chasing Harry Winston

4 cookies
Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberg. This is the author of The Devil Wears Prada, and it was a good chick lit book. 3 friends and the changes in their lives. One of the friends really bugged me - she wouldn't be my friend.

Blus Screen

3 cookies
Blue Screen by Robert B. Parker. I thought this was going to be better than it was. A female detective is hired to protect an actress, and then her sister is murdered. So - so.

Gone Baby Gone

5 cookies
Gone Baby Gone by Dennis Lehane. This book was great, I thought about it for a long time afterward. I love the writing and the story was compelling. A couple of detectives looking for a kidnapped girl.

Don't Blink

4 cookies
Don't Blink by James Patterson and Howard Roughan. I'm not even sure how to explain this one. A man sees something that sucks him into trouble. That works.

Chasing the Night

4 cookies
Chasing the Night by Iris Johansen. An Eve Duncan novel. I like these, and this one was good. A woman trying to get back her son, who was kidnapped by an enemy out for revenge.

Hangman

5 cookies
Hangman by Faye Kellerman. Love these Lazarus/Decker novels. A great mystery.

Do No Harm

4 cookies
Do No Harm by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz. Another good one by Mr Hurwitz. About a Doctor, a crazy man, and choices.

Charlie St. Cloud

4 cookies
Charlie St. Cloud by Ben Sherwood. This wasn't at all what I thought it was. But I really liked it. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I think if it sticks to the story I will really like it.
